The Vanishing Season (The Moment Collector) by Jodi Lynn Anderson Review (non-spoiler):

This book has been deemed The Lovely Bones meets love story, and it sure does meet that expectation.

This book is basically about a girl named Maggie whose parents are going through financial problems and have to move to middle-ofno-where-like Door County Water Street. Maggie leaves behind her old life and friends to a life that seems at first unpleasant. Maggie has been for a long while, home-schooled. But, you should know that this book isn't written in Maggie's point of view, but a ghost who is stuck to Maggie's new home. Maggie and her parents slowly but surely make their fixer-upper of a house their new home. Maggie meets her new neighbors, Pauline and Liam. And Maggie begins to feel at home. But in peaceful Door County, things turn un-peaceful. A killer is rampant and everyone is afraid. Girls go missing and found dead and everyone is a suspect. Nothing is as it seems in what once was peaceful Door County. Love, heart-break, loss, and death are all key emotions that rampage throughout this beautiful story.

I haven't read a book by Jodi Lynn Anderson before, but I've wanted to for a long time (I wanted to read her book Tiger Lily), and now I finally have. I honestly went into this story barely knowing a thing, but I loved it just the same.

Maggie turns out to be a beautifully written character that the reader can easily love and cherish. She has her faults but she's easily relatable. To be honest, all the characters in this book were easily likeable.

I loved the way this story was written, somebody on the outside looking in. I've never read a story written this way before, so it was a pleasant surprise. The writing in this book was strong and hit home but simple, as to not confuse the reader. The love story was adorable and laughable (in a good way, you know that giddy feeling!). I also loved the fact of how surprising the ending was and how surprising the whole story was. This story was written to surprise the reader at every corner and keep the reader guessing, and it did through and through.

I wouldn't have picked this book up on my own, to be honest. I am a cover buyer and this cover is beautiful, but I also look at the genres of books before I buy them. I don't normally read horror/creepy books, so I wouldn't have bought this book on my own (because it sure is dark and creepy at times!). I'm so glad I recieved this ARC from the publisher HarperTeen and Goodreads First Reads.

Kissed (The Thorn Chronicles, #1) by Kimberly Loth Review:

I recieved this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. And an honest review ye shall get. Haha.

Okay... I just need a second to breathe... 

Alrighty, down to business. 

I FREAKING LOVE THIS BOOK! HARDLY ANOTHER BOOK CAN COMPARE!

The whole storyline was captivating and made me not want to put it down. There were so many twists and turns that I was fully invested and needed to uncover. 

And the brothers... let me tell you, totally swoon worthy! Oh my gosh!

By the way, I'm team Puck all the way. 

I also loved the fact of which the author kept us (the readers) totally ignorant to what was going to happen next. Everything was a surprise pretty much. This book is one of the first books I've read where I wasn't able to figure out what's going to happen. 

And oh man... let me just talk about the visuals the author gives, completely chrystal clear. Nothing was confusing. 

I could go on and on about how rant worthy and fandom worthy this book is but I think you get the point. This book is a sensational, swoon worthy, whirlwind that keeps you guessing till the very end. 

I highly recommend this book.

Everneath (Everneath, #1) by Brodi Ashton Review:

Wow, wow, wow. This book definitely gave me the feels. I felt broken after I finished this book.

Nikki Beckett is a girl who took the easy way out of her pain when her heart got broken. She went to a guy, Cole, who can take away the pain, and he did, but he also took her to Hell, literally. They call it the Everneath. A place where Immortals live to suck energy and emotions out of innocent humans, called the Feed. After Nikki's time in the Everneath, she wants to go back home, but there's a problem. Nikki did not age during the Feed and she remembers some of her life before, and you're not suppossed to remember while in the Feed, you're suppossed to forget. Nikki goes back home but she only has a certain amount of time before she has to go back. So, Nikki tries to set things right amongst her family and friends before saying good-bye forever. But, there's a problem with that, he Ex-boyfriend Jack isn't going to let Nikki go so easily this time. And Cole is out to get her back to make her his queen.

I loved this retelling of the Persephone myth. I loved the characters and the writing style. Everything in this book kept me wanting more.

Of course, I wasn't a giant fan of everything or I'd have rated this book 5 out of 5 stars instead of 4. I didn't like how Nikki kept secrets and how easily Jack and Will took the news of why Nikki was gone so easily. I mean I expected incredulous looks or laughter, not okays and I'll help you through this.

But overall I love this story and can't wait to start Everbound (Everneath, #2).

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi Review:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5

This book was definitely an un-put-downable read for me. The only reason it took me so long to finish this book is because of exams and other books I am currently reading.

I really loved Juliette as a female lead character. She has so many fantastic qualities that I wish so many other people could have. She's such an honest, caring, and selfless soul that has been beat and confined. Even though people fear and hate her, she doesn't blame them and is completely and utterly kind to those very same people. 

Then we have Warner. A very starved and depraved and wacked soul. He is so messed up he doesn't think there's anything wrong with how wicked he is. He doesn't speak of his mother and what he does say about his father is strict and cruel. I can honestly understand why Warner is the way he is, and I believe he is not a lost cause. I still have hope for him.

As for Adam. Adam Adam Adam. I honestly wasn't a giant fan of him. There is just something about him that's a little off, and at the end of the book I realize that he definitely has a lot of secrets. 

Kenji has to be one of my favorite characters, though. He is just so upbeat and optimistic but also straight to it, completely serious and straight to business when need be. 

The world building was quick and sweet. I liked the straight forwardness of the storyline. It wasn't unnescisarily dragged out. Nice and fast-paced, kept me interested. 

So, why did I rate this book 4.5 stars instead of 5? Well, I wasn't a giant fan of all the repitition. I'm also not a big fan of the way this book was written. I felt like some of the things I was reading were a bit cliched and/or too much. 

But in the end, this book deserves a spot in greatness because ultimately this story had its glorious moments. This book is definitely a must read for dystopia lovers or x-men lovers. Can't wait to begin Unravel Me.
